Harrisville Village
Burrillville, Rhode Island
Harrisville Village, a “village” style concept of sixty-seven units of residential condominiums, lies on approximately thirty-five acres of land located on Steere Farm Road (Route 98) in Burrillville, Rhode Island. The residential units contain a minimum of 1,200 square feet and are grouped into buildings of two, three and four units.
Crossman Engineering provided the civil engineering design services which included:
- 2,000 feet of roadway system that connects Steere Farm Road with Mowry Street.
- An intermittent stream crossing utilizing a 38-foot long precast concrete arch culvert with a 12-foot span.
- Drainage design of three separate underground detention and infiltration systems.
- A gravity sewer system which connects to the existing sewer main in Route 98.
- Water distribution system for the development.
- Wilderness/Recreational Trails.
- Wetland Mitigation/Permitting.
The project included coordination and permitting with the following agencies:
- Major Land Development Review/Town of Burrillville.
- A Physical Alteration Permit from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation for the design of access/egress to Route 98.
- An Insignificant Alteration Permit from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) for wetland mitigation and stormwater discharge.
- Approval of a stormwater infiltration system from the RIDEM Underground Injection Control Program.
- Approval from the Burrillville Sewer Commission for the sewer extension.
